Leith Crossen, 57, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was arrested around 9:35 p.m., after police received a 911 call about a possible drunk driver near the Cold Spring Harbor train station, said the Suffolk County Police.

Police found Crossen stopped in his 2007 Volkswagen Jetta on Westbury Road, but he was not intoxicated. Instead, he had just dropped off a passenger and had run out of gas, police said.

But a check of his driver’s license revealed it had been suspended 17 times, police added.

Crossen was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
